Some nice firsts for Quinn
Pretty Busy weekend for the Holmans. But glad to say that it was filled with a lot of "first" moments for the little guy.
Friday we started off with a walk to nearby Forest Park for "Glow in the Park". An annual event that is part of the Great Forest Park Balloon race held every fall. If you have never been its a really nice and different kind of way to spend an evening in the fall. To cap it off they end with a fireworks show right over Forest Park. Now I've seen a lot of fireworks in my day and while this display wasn't "all that" its still shot to the the top of my rankings because it was the first with our son. He seemed to enjoy the evening and was totally focused on the fireworks (which is good because I was worried they would startle him). Anyways - I can show you better than I can tell you so check out the video from last night below.
Also - thanks to our friends the Slater and the Collins families for inviting us out (first fireworks for their babies too).
Another big first - QUINN HAD HIS FIRST SWIM LESSON. Daddy had to miss it because he was sick as a dog (probably from being out in the park after dark (see skull cap in video above)). But Mommy and Grandma "Netta" made sure to get some good footage (none of which has been posted to the net..hmph). I'm working on getting that up soon. (Editor's note -we now have the footage!)
Stay tuned too.. We did an impromptu photo shoot to mark Quinn's six months being on this earth and they came out good. As soon as our managing editor (aka Mommy) approves them for release - they will be up. But here's a sneak peak for those of you that follow the blog.
Also LOTS OF LOVE to our friend Torie Williams on the birth of her 3rd baby girl!!

Shout out to Brittany for making me aware that we had gone a while without posting ANYTHING.
So I figured I'd post a HTRAINUPTOWN EXCLUSIVE (DJ FUNKMASTER FLEX BOMBS GO OFF).
The pic above is of a special moment (at least to me as I witnessed it) between Quinn
and his Great Grandfather affectionately known as Pa-Pa-Pa (we promoted him up from Pa-Pa).
What's special about it is that it really shows the love from Pa-Pa to Quinn. For those of us closer to Pa-Pa it means a lot to not only have him recognize Quinn but really appreciate the interaction. The hug in this picture is completely unscripted and coerced and that's what make is SO special.
I look forward to having as many as these moments as possible between Great Grandfather and Great Grandson.
